The Task: Outfit an new mobile production vehicle for the City of Waterford Hills. A new vehicle would be provided and all of the existing equipment would be migrated from the original 1984 vehicle.
The Solution: A new production vehicle from Gerling & Associates out of Sunbury Ohio was provided. Over a one week period the existing vehicle would need to be stripped of all video equipment. All of the items were in need of serious cleaning and bench testing. Initial design plans and layout schematics were created by Nic Auger and drafted by the design team at Advanced Lighting & Sound. After owner approval both the new and the old vehicle were rolled into Advanced Lighting & Sound's shop so the work could begin. Initial take out and clean up took 2 days as the crew pushed to meet a production deadline for the vehicle. Many of the components tested need some minor work to assure they would perform as needed in the new vehicle. After initial migration the wiring process began as all of the elements were integrated together and connected to the exterior I/O panel. When the project was complete the staff at Media Network of Waterford were amazed at how well the project turned out. Many believed they actually received new equipment, but it was just their old gear cleaned and tweaked.
